La hormiga de Oro offers cantina-style NICA dishes at moderate prices for breakfast, lunch dining in or taking out. For more than decade La Hormiga de Oro has been an staple for authentic Nicaraguan fare in Miami-Dade County but you can also get a taste of the restaurant´s Central American cuisine in Pembroke Pines. It´s a taste of home to many patrons who stop by for an aerly morning breakfast of scramble eggs with chorizo, fried cheese, rice and beams and tortillas. At the end the day they´re here for hearty meals like shrimp in garlic souce and with Nicaragua´s famed Tres Leches for dessert.
In 1988, I arrived in the United States with my two children and started working in a cafeteria with the illusion of having my own business.
Two years later my dream came true Daniel and Francis González opened the doors of the first Nicaraguan Restaurant "La Hormiga de Oro" located 10700 West Flagler St. Due to the great reception that the food received for our seasoning and excellent quality, we have expanded more locations in Kendall, Hialeah, Miami Lake, and Broward. Our specialty, Carne Asada, led us to fame for its authentic Homemade seasoning, the exquisite soups, the delicious Baho, the famous Nicaraguan breakfasts and our variety of Natural Refreshments.
We would give special recognition to our expert Chef Maria Guadalupe Ponce (Lupita) who for 30 years has been the creator of our delicious Nicaraguan recipes and who currently continues to work on Kendall's Hormiga de Oro.
Thanking all our clients for their loyalty, we hope to continue serving them Always maintaining our tradition of Service, Quality and Price.
